What a fun and wild event for all ages. I had a great time and got to take home some mochi. If you can you shoud come and experience this Shimizu custom.

Yasudagami is made from the inner bark from the kozo (mulberry) plant.
Yasudagami is all hand made in Shimizu at the Warashi Hands-on Activity Center.

Cleaning the outer bark from the inner bark by hand.  It is a very time-consuming task but the end product is of higher quality paper.
