Shimizu has a long history in making Japanese washi called Yasudagami. I been using this washi for some art paintings and this paper is amazing. Its all hand made from start to finish so every piece is unique.
Free bus on the weekend. come up and enjoy the view.

Hand made Yasuda gami (Japanese washi paper) made from Kozo (mulberry) branches that grow native to Japan. They caltivate Kozo year after year and use the inner bark to make yasuda gami.
You can learn how to make this historical paper at The Warashi Hand-on Activity center in Shimizu, Wakayama
