Today was the Mita Zaogongen mochimaki. We were lucky to have great weather today and lots of people showed up for the event. If you have the chance come to one of the many mochi maki festivals around Shimizu. Its a fun and exciting Wakayama tradition.

Today was the annual sakura matsuri in shimizu. There was food stalls, karaoke,and mochi maki. It was a great day!
This time of the year is the harvest season for budo sansho (Japanese pepper). I been busy all week helping with the harvest of this wonderful Japanese spice. It has a numbing heat with a sharp citrus punch. Sansho is great to add some flavor to any dish. I been putting sansho on everything lately, so good so good!
